Hebrews 1:1-2

“God, who at various times and in various ways spoke in time past to the fathers by the prophets, has in these last days spoken to us by His Son, whom He has appointed heir of all things, through whom also He made the worlds.”

Read all of Hebrews 1

Dare I say it… another of my favorite verses.
Hebrews 1 begins by identifying the Lord Jesus Christ as the fulfillment of all the revelation of God.  As we look back with the early Christians they had the OT Scriptures and the storied traditions of how God had revealed himself in times gone by.   All these revelations were preparation for and pointing to the Christ who came.
To truly celebrate Christmas, we have to know about and know Christ the King.  Yes, through him all things were created (John 1:3), but more importantly through Him God has fully revealed his work of redemption in reconciling the world to himself.  Yeah!
I wouldn’t be surprised if tomorrow’s Verse for Today is the next two verses:
“who being the brightness of His glory and the express image of His person, and upholding all things by the word of His power, when He had by Himself purged our sins, sat down at the right hand of the Majesty on high, having become so much better than the angels, as He has by inheritance obtained a more excellent name than they.”
Hallelujah, what a Savior!
