Job 37:5-6

“God’s voice thunders in marvelous ways; he does great things beyond our understanding. He says to the snow, ‘Fall on the earth,’ and to the rain shower, ‘Be a mighty downpour.’”

Read all of Job 37

I was actually a little surprised by this verse selection by In this verse we have Elihu affirming God’s majesty. At any rate… in the next chapter we have God questioning those who try to tell Him how He must be. “Who is this who darkens counsel by words without knowledge.”

Today’s verses are profound and remind us that all things happen under the governance of God’s eternal power. Just because we don’t understand something, doesn’t mean that God isn’t fulfilling his purposes through them.

I’m reminded of these verses from Isaiah 55:

8 “ For My thoughts are not your thoughts,
Nor are your ways My ways,” says the LORD.
9 “ For as the heavens are higher than the earth,
So are My ways higher than your ways,
And My thoughts than your thoughts.”
